Scrappy Weekend!!

This weekend, I not only had the chance to watch my youngest play some great soccer, but I also got to spend some time with some friends doing some scrappy projects.  Here is one of my favorites using some My Mind's Eye Life stories papers and embellies!

I also want to share a project I did for my In-laws for their 50th anniversary!  I started with a type case from 7 Gypsies and added some of my favorite photos of them and some of the MME Life Stories papers for the backgrounds!

I will share more of the layouts I did this week!!

Fourth of July Fun!!

We had a wonderful 4th of July weekend.  The weather was great and the neighborhood party was fantastic!!

Of course, I took lots of photos..here are just a few!

Another Fantastic Weekend.

This weekend was spent on the soccer fields...and completely by choice this time!!  Izzy was asked to play with another team for a tournament and we said...sure!!  The girls played so well and just kept winning...all the way to Monday's final!  It was a great experience and I know there are 15 very exhausted girls sleeping in this morning!!

I am glad the brand new braces haven't prevented her from flashing her great smile!!

Summer is almost here!

We are in our last week of school and soon I will have a high school graduate!!  The weather is great and we are having some fun family moments. I know tomorrow will be a day of photo taking and special memories!

on to some scrappy goodness...

Banners are popping up on so many crafting items these days.  When Amy Mattes sent me these vintage flag printables from One Pink Lemon, I was super excited as I really haven't used very many banners on my scrapbooking projects yet. After I printed them out on heavy weight paper, I trimmed them to make them different lengths.  Then I cut some butterflies from the ones I didn't use and sprinkled them around the page along with others I cut from her vintage fabric circle printables.  I also added one of her cute fabric tags and some precut photo corners.  I love the patterns and colors of all the fabrics and printables!

A little bit of Pink Paislee paper some Divine Twine and a handmade crocheted flower is all I had to add to make this sweet layout of my daughter and her friend.  Make sure you take a look at all the new printables at One Pink Lemon...new things are showing up there soon!!

and my reveal for Cookin Up Creations this week featured ribbons and trims from 

The Ribbon Jar!!  When I saw the assortment of purples I was given, I knew I had to combine it with these fun Papers from Bo Bunny.  The patterns on the ribbons matched perfectly.  The different textures of ribbons allowed me to have some fun with them and make a butterfly trail.  There is even a tiny one tied around my "b"!

Looking Back through the years...

I have been scrapping a lot of photos of the kids from when they were younger..mostly because when I went through my older album, I found that the pages were fading as I had not always used "safe" papers.  So here are a few of my latest creations.

This week's reveals and a winner....

Blog Hop and National Scrapbooking Day!!!

And now for some fun..

Yes, it is Spring here..and we have been dealing with some winds here lately...and what better way to enjoy them than to have lots of pinwheels around!!  Pin wheels have become very, very popular with paper crafters this year..and I love them!!  You can make them in any size you would like.  Here is a simple template to get you started:

Now the tricky part is folding the corner into the center. You can secure with glue dots or place a large item over the center.  I have used stickers and chipboard, but I think my favorite is to put a button in there!!  If you make them with cardstock, you can also put a pushpin through the center and attach them to a straw or wooden stick and place them in your yard!!!  Pull out that cardstock that you thought you would never use and see what you come up with!!

I made some with full sheets of cardstock and then pinned them to the wall of my daughter's room..boy will she be surprised when she gets home.  A big bold splash of color for her room...if she doesn't take them off to play with them!

You can also make them very tiny like these that I will put on a layout in the future...
