Where did this month go??

I can't believe it is already the end of July...where did this month go. Between camps and soccer practices this month has flown. Both girls played in Carlsbad Cup mid month. Izzy's team did really well considering the are still getting to know each other but by the end of the weekend, they had started to gel. Jules team won their bracket..Yeah!!

The whole family went to the American Idol tour concert in San Diego. We don't usually go to these types of things, but since we had all watched the whole season and voted for our faves, we knew we had to go. We had a fun time and it will be interesting to see where each of the performers go in their careers.(pic is from my phone.. we were actually pretty close..close enough to see their faces plus get the whole stage effects too)

I can't believe the stores all have their school supplies out...starting to collect those items I know they will need..can never have too many pens, pencils and notebook paper!!

Way to go girls!

We spent the July 4th weekend at the soccer fields...Juliet's team was playing in the Pegasus Cup. We certainly got our money's worth as they ended up playing 6 games over the 3 day tournament. The team played well and ended up with 5 wins, 1 tie, 19 goals for and only 2 against!!

Another Soccer Weekend

This weekend was spent in Irvine at a tournament for Juliet's team. Saturday's weather was strange with mist/sun/sprinkle/sun/cloudy weather. I was constantly taking off my jacket and putting it back on. Sunday was beautiful weather and fun soccer to watch. Unfortunately, only about half the team was there so even with all the very talented borrowed players, the team just didn't know each other well enough. They ended up with 2 ties and a loss, but every touch is a learning experience.

Of course, we did have to stop at Irvine Spectrum for some shopping on the way home. Juliet's favorite store is called Kaitlyn. Of course they have many of the same things as other stores, but the way they display/combine it just makes it a fun store to go and try things on. Izzy also found some new swimsuits for her trip to KS next week.

Izzy's first tournament

We spent the weekend in Mission Viejo at Izzy's tournament. Although they didn't place, we were proud of the girls as this was basically the first time they had played together as a team. We were especially proud of Isabel as she played both defensive positions and forward...and scored the only goal for the team. We think the team will do well this year as they get to know each other.

Last Day of School!!!

The day started off with Juliet's promotion ceremony. Of course that meant another new dress...The Ceremony was nice and then we went out for Sushi..of course vegetarian for Jules.

Then we came home and had ice cream for all the kids on the block. It is a tradition that we make sundaes on the last day of school.

5th Grade Promotion

Of course, someone walked in front of me when Isabel actually was getting her certificate!! I have to admit to tearing up when they sang their song!! We have been at this school for 10 years..I will miss the teachers, staff and parents!
