What's going on?
I heard all this noise outside so went out to check it out. Apparently the mockingbirds have a nest nearby and a crow went a little too close. The crow was so calm and really didn't seem phased by the mockingbirds scolding him. They kept dive bombing him and he just walked around like it was no big deal.

Won't you come in?
Okay...so remember awhile back there was a bird that kept knocking on our windows. He comes back every so often and taps...Well...he learned his lesson this weekend. He came up to the sliding door and tap tap ...oh...the door is open so I'll go on in. I don't think he was really happy once he was inside! It took me 10 minutes to get him back out the door and about the same amount of time to settle the dogs down afterwards!!!

A sad moment
Our whole community of North County is saddened by the recent murder of 17 year old Chelsea King. Although we did not know her personally, the fact that someone her age would be randomly attacked has really hit home. Everyone...hug your children and tell them you love them.
Her attacker was a registered sex offender who was living with his parents 20 minutes from the park where Chelsea was attacked. He served time for molesting a 13 year old girl when he was in his early 20's and has been linked to other attacks in the area. He is a very disturbed man...that you could have passed on the street and never thought twice about.
Edited: Since my post, they have also found the body of another local girl who has been missing for a year. They haven't said whether they are related, but it is a sad coincidence. Rest in Peace, Chelsea and Amber

A rainy day at Disneyland
I took the kids and some of their friends to Disneyland this past weekend. It rained off and on all day. We were pretty much soaked but it did mean that the crowds stayed away and we were able to walk on the rides.
This was the first time that Izzy tried to get autographs of the characters. She had fun doing it and I think she ended up with 11 or more. We had a lot of fun standing in line with the 5 year old girls waiting for the Princesses.
